It only took me 4 months to make it over to Antelope Island from my new home in south Salt Lake.
What a great escape for photography. You have a unique landscape here, a flat ocean like lake with a diverse spread of water fowl and big game as well as some sandy beaches, rocky crag-like shorelines, single track and a couple mountains to explore. Camping is available too.

Many years back this whole basin was known as Bonneville Lake, and yes it was all under water. Now, what is left are the geologic formations, wild life and two-legged inhabitants that help keep this area protected for visitors, open year round.

I will definitely return soon for some more excursions since the water sports options were not available. This is a great place to bring the whole family too as most of the activities are pretty low intensity.
